Morganville Vampires

I have been reading the first 11 books of the "Morganville Vampires" by Rachel Caine. And I've gotta say: I love them! It was my friend Josephine, who recommended them, and I have thanked her many times since. Though it is not as good as "the Sookie Stackhouse" series, it is unique and very well written. Great plot and awesome characters. I do praise these books very much.

The books take place in a town in Texas, called Morganville. As you can imagine, this town is not regular. The main character 'Claire' is a teenager, who is very smart, and graduated hight school two years early. Her parents think 16 is too young to go to the MIT, so they send her to a college in Morganville. Here she is met with aggression, and as Monica Morell with her 'back-up dancers' push Claire down a set of stairs, she is too frightened to live on campus anymore. She seeks out a house in town called "The glass house", where they apparently need another roommate. This is where she first off meet Michael Glass, Shane Collins and Eve Rosser, who later become her best friends. She even hooks up with Shane, as Eve does with Michael.
The town is leaded by vampires, mostly by the Founder Amelie, who takes speciel interest in young Claire because of her cleverness. Claire later starts to work for an ancient vampire, called Myrnin. The job is top-secret and takes place in a lab under town, where she has to help her crazy boss protect the town from everything. There are a lot of rules in Morganville, and the punishments are different as well as almost everything else. It is not unnormal to be burned alive if you piss off the vampires.

Every book has its own plot, one even more exciting than the other, and Claire experiences a lot, such as bombs, Evil ancient vampires, crazy vampires and crazy humans who challenge the vampires. I cannot encourage you enough - everybody should read these books.

Every book should be judged on its own, but overall I will give these books 4 out of 5 fangs - though very close to 5/5. :o) Enjoy!

My Name is Memory

First of all, I want to apologize for the long period of time without any updates; I've been busy with school, but I have had some time to read though.

In February I finished "My Name is Memory" by Ann Brashares. In the begging I thought I was making a mistake reading it. It was sooo slow and boring! But as the story went on, I was caught in the universe of young Daniel and it became quite exciting.

This book kind of has two main characters, Lucy and the most important: Daniel. In Ann Brashares world, souls keep on living after the body dies; we all are reborn again and again. A few people remember their past lives, as Daniel. In his first life he "accidently" killed Lucy and he has regretted it ever since. Every time he is reborn, his only goal is to find his love and be with her. But it has never really been possible due to many factors as she being old and him being a kid or something else. Finally in "this" life, Lucy believes the story Daniel tells. But just as they think everything is going to be OK, an old enemy appears and threatens to kill them both.

It is a quite interesting story, once you get over the first couple og chapters. It may seem very boring at first, but if you keep on reading, it will catch your curiosity and soon you just have to know if Lucy will believe Daniel, and if they will finally end up together. "My Name is Memory" is the first book of a trilogy, and I will give it 4 out of 5 fangs. :o) Enjoy!

The Vampire Diaries - The Hunters: Phantom (nr. 8)

In the beginning when I was reading "Phantom" (the 8th Vampire Diaries Book) by L.J. Smith, I thought it was pretty lame compared to the others. But as I went along, the passion, love and humour I was used to from the first books came along. It was heavy to begin with, but the VD charm found it's way back.

This time Elena is back with her family, and everything is back to normal, except the time that passed still did so. The guardians did a great job making everything as it should be in the town. But they couldn't bring back Damon, and losing him is tearing up both Stefan and Elena. The loss even starts to split them apart.
A new threat arrives and soon nobody in the small group feels save. Alaric is back in town, with his new friend Celia, and even those two are in danger. They cannot figure out where the threat is coming from, but soon they realize it's bigger and more dangerous than they feared. They have to have more faith in each other than before, and secrets are being revealed.

As I said, in the beginning this book didn'tquite capture me, but soon enough I was absorbed. I will give this book 4 out of 5 fangs even though the beginning may only derserve 3. :o) Enjoy!

Nightshade

I've read "Nightshade" and "Wolfsbane" by Andrea Cremer, and I must say I was disappointed in the beginning. But as I continued through the Nightdhade universe, I quickly realised this world was kind of amazing.

The main character "Calla" is the alpha of her young werewolf pack "the Nightshades". She is to be mated with the alpha from the young wolves of " the Bane  pack", Ren. This is all decided by the wolves' masters, the Keepers. But suddenly a strange boy arrives in the town, where they live, Vail. His name is Shay, and he Calla falls head over heels with him without realising it at first. She is torn between the two, and when she realises the Searchers (the Keepers enemies) are probably not who she thinks, and that maybe the Keepers are not all good guys, she is forced to confront her feelings and her loyality.

The books are different from other of this genre, but all in all it is a quite new universe, and you quickly adapt and want to learn more. I cannot wait for book 3. I will give these books 4 out of 5 fangs. :o) Enjoy!

The Art of Seducing A Naked Werewolf

"The Art of Seducing A Naked Werewolf" by Molly Harper is a kind of follow-up to number one "How to Flirt with A Naked Werewolf".

This time we follow Cooper's little sister, the new pack alpha of the valley, Maggie Graham. A scientist has come to Grundy to examine werewolfs, and Maggie cannot have that so close to her valley. But of course she falls head over heels with him, and then nothing are to be done. But as she tries to find out her new love life with this gorgeus Nick Thatcher, accident after accident starts to happen near her. First her brakes stop working, then her office was set on fire, and then she was attacked in the forest. Some weird stalker is after her and she cannot find out who he is, until it is very much too late...

This book is as genious and hilarious as all of Harper's books, and therefore it gets 4 out of 5 fangs aswell. :o) enjoy, and merry christmas!

How to Flirt with A Naked Werewolf

"How to Flirt with A Naked Werewolf" by Molly Harper is another hilarious book by this awesome writer.

It's about a girl called "Mo", who moves to Alaska to get awat from her annoying parents. Here she meets grumpy Cooper Graham - and they cannot be in the same room... Until Coop shows up on Mo's doorstep in wolf-form. Finally they acccept their attraction towards each other, but again problems are on their way. A crazy alpha from Cooper's old pack, an irritating younger sister Maggie and two really weird parents later, I finished this book with a smile on my face. It's really hilarious as all of Harper's books, and I really enjoyed reading this.

So this book, as hilarious as the "Nice Girls" Series, I will give 4 out of 5 fangs. :o) Enjoy!

Vampire Academy

Hi guys!

So, I haven't been able to write for a while, but I have read a loooot of books in my absence. ;)

First off, I read the vampire academy series by Richelle Mead. I was like: "Hmm, I'm not sure what to think of these, but maybe I should just read them even though some people say they really stink..." before I started book number 1. But it only took a couple of pages before I was bitten and smitten! I totally adore and love these books now!

It's all about a Dhampir called Rose and her best friend, a mortal vampire (Moroi), Lissa. They run away from the vampire academy, but some Dhampirs (which serves as bodyguards for the Moroi, especially the royal Moroi) found them and brought them back. One of them is the russian hottie, Dimitri, and Rose and him soon begin to feel someting more for each other. Lissa turns out to be a really special Moroi with long-forgotten special magical "spirit"-powers. This fact gets her some enemies, who wants to use her powers for them selves. Rose job is to protect Lissa, which can be hard when a special hot russian guy trains you in combat every day and takes up her concentration. Combats, prison breaks and a few hostages later, the books of course end somewhat happy.
Rose and Lissa have to endure a lot of things in the 6 books, all from Strigoi attacks (evil vampires) and broken hearts to loosing friends and love. I could go on and on about these great books all day long, but I would be stupid for saying anything but: "Go read them!!!!".

I give all books 4 out of 5 fangs, but only because I know a few better books. BUT I have to admit book number 6 is a bit overrated, so that will only earn 3 fangs here. :o) Enjoy!!
